Would have loved it as a child. I think I vaguely remember watching a movie with the same plot.

Full of adventure and wonder as is fitting for a Dahl book. I enjoyed this story and it’s characters. Not as great as Matilda or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but just as enjoyable.

Also why do the main characters in Dahl’s books always seem to have unfortunate and devastating beginnings?
