Maybe it’s because I’ve read read too much of the “mad scientist” trope, but this was a bit of a disappointment to me. I liked other H.G. Wells novels, my favorite being “The Time Machine”, but this one was one his “misses”.

It’s another cautionary tale about crossing ethical boundaries in the name of scientific advancement.
